Montreal Circular 11


Toronto Circular 11 – A wonderful route in Eastern Canada and Northeastern USA. The first part of this route includes a visit to the Niagara Falls and then continues to the states New York, Vermont New Hampshire and Maine in the USA. From there the routes enters Canada and leads to the Saint John. From Saint John and the province of New Brunswick. The route continues to the Gaspe Peninsula, a beautiful, pristine region in Eastern Quebec. The last part of this route includes a ferry ride that crosses the delta of the Saint Lawrence River and and a drive to the cities of Quebec City, Montreal and Ottawa all the way to Toronto, where this trip ends.


Day 1  Land in Toronto and visit the city.
Lodging location: Toronto

Day 2 – Drive to the Niagara Falls and visit the falls, 2 hours drive
Lodging location: Niagara Falls (Canadian side)

Day 3 – Cross the border to the USA and drive to the Adirondack Mountains in eastern New York, 6 hours drive
Lodging location: Lake Placid

Day 4 – Travel in the eastern Adirondack Mountains and take a short ferry ride that crosses Lake Champlain to the state of Vermont, 30 minutes ferry ride plus 2 hours drive
Lodging location: Stowe

Day 5 – Drive to New Hampshire and cross the White Mountains through route 112 (Kancamagus Highway), 3 hours drive
Lodging location: North Conway

Day 6 – Travel in the eastern part of the White Mountains
Lodging location: North Conway

Day 7 – Drive to Acadia National Park, in the state of Maine and visit west Acadia National Park, 4 hours drive
Lodging location: Bar Harbor

Day 8 – Visit east Acadia National Park
Lodging location: Bar Harbor

Day 9 – Cross the border back to Canada and drive to Saint John, enjoy the afternoon in town, 3 hours drive
Lodging location: Saint John

Day 10 – Drive to New Brunswick and visit Hopewell Rocks (the place with the greatest tides in the world), 3 hours drive
Lodging location: Moncton

Day 11 – Drive to the Gaspe peninsula and on the way visit Kouchibouguac National Park, 6.5 hours drive
Lodging location: Perce

Day 12 – Visit the amazing Gannet colony in Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé National Park and drive north to Gaspe, 1 hour drive
Lodging location: Gaspe

Day 13 – Visit Forillon National Park and drive south along to coast of the Gaspe peninsula, 4 hours drive
Lodging location: Matane

Day 14 –  Take the ferry to Baie-Comeau, and afterwards drive south and go whale watching in Tadoussac, 2.5 hours ferry ride plus 2.5 hours drive
Lodging location: Tadoussac

Day 15 – Drive to Quebec City and visit the city, 3 hours drive
Lodging location: Quebec City

Day 16 – Drive to Montreal and visit the city, 3 hours drive
Lodging location: Montreal

Day 17 –  Drive to Ottawa and visit the city, 2 hours drive
Lodging location: Ottawa

Day 18 – Drive to Toronto, on the way take a tour to the Thousand Islands, 5 hours drive
Lodging location: Toronto

Day 19 – Fly home
