San Francisco to Las Vegas 19 – A classic route in the states of California and Utah with a pinch of Arizona and Nevada that includes Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion National Parks plus the cities of San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas, plus Highway 1, this is a great and route suitable not only for the summer and fall months but also for the spring months (although during snow storms chains may be required in high elevations).


Day 1 – Arrive to San Francisco and visit the city

Day 2 – Visit San Francisco

Day 3 – One more day in San Francisco

Day 4 – Drive to Yosemite National Park and visit the park’s valley, 4 hours drive

Day 5 – Travel in Yosemite National Park’s valley

Day 6 – Visit south Yosemite (Glacier Point and Mariposa Grove – see opening dates here) and drive to Monterey, 5 hours drive

Day 7 – Visit Monterey

Day 8 – Drive and travel south along Route 1, 3 hours drive
Lodging location: Morro Bay or Cambria

Day 9 – Travel in southern route 1 (Montana de Oro State Park, ATV trip in Pismo Beach and more) and drive to Santa Clarita/Valencia, 3.5 hours drive
Lodging location: Santa Clarita or Valencia

Day 10 – Visit Six Flags and drive to Los Angeles, 1 hour drive
Lodging location: Hollywood or Santa Monica or Venice Beach

Day 11 – Spend the day in Los Angeles or visit Universal Studios and drive south to Anaheim, 1 hour drive

Day 12 – Visit Disneyland

Day 13 – Visit Disney’s California Adventure Park or drive to Legoland Park (1 hour south of Anaheim)

Day 14 – Drive to Kingman, 5 hours drive
(on the way stop at Barstaw’s outlet or at Calico’s or Oatman’s ghost towns)

Day 15 – Drive to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and travel in the south rim, 2.5 hours drive
(on the way to the Grand Canyon, if you have time – drive a portion of Route 66 and stop at Seligman)
Lodging location: South Rim or Tusayan

Day 16 – Visit sites along HWY 64 in the east part of the rim of the Grand Canyon and drive to Page, 2.5 hours drive

Day 17 – Rent a boat and enjoy Lake Powell, short drive

Day 18 – Visit the Antelope Canyon (reserve in advance) and hike to the Horseshoe Bend and drive to Bryce, 2.5 hours drive

Day 19 – Visit Bryce National Park

Day 20 – Drive to Zion National Park on scenic route 9 and visit the park, 2 hours drive

Day 21 – Enjoy the morning in Zion and drive to Las Vegas, 2.5 hours drive
