San Francisco to Las Vegas 16 – A classic route in the states of California and Utah with a pinch of Arizona and Nevada that includes Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion National Parks plus the cities of San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas, plus Highway 1, this is a great and route suitable not only for the summer and fall months but also for the spring months (although during snow storms chains may be required in high elevations).


Day 1 – Arrive to San Francisco and visit the city

Day 2 – Visit San Francisco

Day 3 – One more day in San Francisco

Day 4 – Drive to Yosemite National Park and visit the park’s valley, 4 hours drive

Day 5 – Travel in Yosemite National Park’s valley

Day 6 – Visit south Yosemite (Glacier Point and Mariposa Grove – see opening dates here) and drive to Monterey, 5 hours drive

Day 7 – Visit Monterey

Day 8 – Drive and travel south along Route 1, 3 hours drive
Lodging location: Morro Bay or Cambria

Day 9 – Enjoy southern Route 1 and drive to Los Angeles, 4 hours drive
Lodging location: Hollywood or Santa Monica or Venice Beach

Day 10 – Spend the day in Los Angeles or visit Universal Studios

Day 11 – Drive to Kingman, 5 hours drive
(on the way stop at Barstaw’s outlet or at Calico’s or Oatman’s ghost towns)

Day 12 – Drive to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and travel in the south rim, 2.5 hours drive
(on the way to the Grand Canyon, if you have time – drive a portion of Route 66 and stop at Seligman)
Lodging location: South Rim or Tusayan

Day 13 – Visit sites along HWY 64 in the east part of the rim of the Grand Canyon and drive to Page, 2.5 hours drive

Day 14 – Visit the Antelope Canyon (reserve in advance) and hike to the Horseshoe Bend and drive to Bryce, 2.5 hours drive

Day 15 – Visit Bryce National Park

Day 16 – Drive to Zion National Park on scenic route 9 and visit the park, 2 hours drive
Lodging location: Springdale

Day 17 – Enjoy the morning in Zion and drive to Las Vegas, 2.5 hours drive

Day 18 – Spend the day in Las Vegas
