San Francisco to Los Angeles 3


San Francisco to Los Angeles 3 – The most classical trips in the state of California that includes Yosemite National Park, Route 1 and the cities of San Francisco and Los Angeles. One of the main advantages of this route is the fact that it can be travelled in winter months (although during winter storms chains may be required in Yosemite).


Day 1 – Arrive to San Francisco and visit the city

Day 2 – Visit San Francisco

Day 3 – One more day in San Francisco
Lodging location: San Francisco

Day 4 – Travel to John Muir National Monument (reserve parking in advance) and Sausalito, 1 hour drive in each direction
Lodging location: San Francisco

Day 5 – Drive to Yosemite National Park and visit the park’s valley (on the way you may to stop for a rafting trip here), 4 hours drive
Lodging location: Yosemite National Park’s valley or near it

Day 6 – Travel in Yosemite National Park’s valley
Lodging location: near Yosemite Valley

Day 7 – Visit south Yosemite (Glacier Point and Mariposa Grove – see opening dates here), 1.5 hours drive in each direction
Lodging location: near Yosemite Valley

Day 8 – Drive to Monterey and visit the city or it’s surroundings (Point Lobus State Park, 17 mile drive etc.), 4 hours drive
Lodging location: Monterey

Day 9 – Visit Monterey
Lodging location: Monterey

Day 10 – Drive and travel south along Route 1, 3 hours drive
Lodging location: Morro Bay or Cambria

Day 11 – Enjoy southern Route 1 and drive to Los Angeles, 4 hours drive
Lodging location: Hollywood or Santa Monica or Venice Beach

Day 12 – Spend the day in Los Angeles or visit Universal Studios
Lodging location: Hollywood or Santa Monica or Venice Beach

Day 13 – Fly home
