Seattle to Salt Lake City 5


Seattle to Salt Lake City 5 – One of the most recommended, most in-depth and most scenic routes in Northwest USA and West Canada. Includes the Vancouver Island and the Canadian Rockies National Parks – all in Canada, and in the USA – Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. All the above in addition to the beautiful cities of Seattle and Vancouver.


Day 1 – Land in Seattle and spend a few hours in the city
Lodging location: Seattle

Day 2 –  Spend the morning in Seattle and in the afternoon take a short ferry ride plus drive the Olympic Peninsula, 20 minutes ferry ride plus 2 hours drive
Lodging location: Port Angeles

Day 3 – Visit the northern part of the Olympic National Park and Hurricane Ridge and take the ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria (Canada), 2 hours drive plus 2 hours ferry ride
Lodging location: Victoria

Day 4 – Visit Victoria and drive to Tofino, 4.5 hours drive
Lodging location: Tofino

Day 5 – Spend the day around Tofino and in Pacific Rim National Park, short drive
Lodging location: Tofino

Day 6 – Enjoy the morning in Tofino, drive to Nanaimo and take the ferry from Nanaimo (Departure Bay) to Horseshoe Bay (Vancouver), 3 hours drive plus 2.5 hours ferry ride
Lodging location: Vancouver

Day 7 – Enjoy a day in Vancouver
Lodging location: Vancouver

Day 8 – Start driving east to the Canadian Rockies, 5 hours drive
Lodging location: Clearwater

Day 9 – Continue driving east and on the way go on a boat tour near the small town of Blue River or visit Mount Robson Provincial Park, 2.5 hours drive
Lodging location: Jasper

Day 10 – Visit Jasper National Park, short drive
Lodging location: Jasper

Day 11 – Drive south along the Icefields Parkway from Jasper National Park to Banff National Park, 3 hours drive
Lodging location: Lake Louise

Day 12 – Travel in the Lake Louise region of Banff National Park and/or visit Yoho National Park, in the evening drive to the town of Banff, 1 hour drive
(Try reserving a spot on the bus to Lake O’hara located in Yoho)
Lodging location: Banff

Day 13 – Drive to Waterton Lakes National Park and visit the park, 4 hours drive
Lodging location: Waterton

Day 14 – Cross the border to the USA and visit Glacier National Park (drive the Going to the Sun road), 2 hours drive (from Waterton to Saint Mary – without the drive in Going to the Sun road)
Lodging location: Saint Mary (or the eastern part of Glacier National Park)

Day 15 – Drive south towards Yellowstone National Park, in the afternoon bath in the Boiling River, 6 hours drive
Lodging location: Gardiner

Day 16 – Visit Mammoth Hot Springs and afterwards drive to the Lamar Valley, in the early afternoon hours arrive to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and visit the Canyon’s wonderful waterfalls and views, 1.5 hours drive
Lodging location: Canyon (or Lake Yellowstone)

Day 17 – Drive to the Upper Geyser Basin and visit this basin, 3 hours drive
Lodging location: West Yellowstone

Day 18 – Visit the Midway and Upper Geyser Basin and drive south to Grand Teton National Park, 3.5 hours drive
Lodging location: Jackson

Day 19 – Visit the southern part of Grand Teton National Park and enjoy activities around Jackson, in the afternoon drive south to Salt Lake City, 4.5 hours drive
Lodging location: Salt Lake City

Day 20 – Fly Home
