Toronto Circular 12


Toronto Circular 12 – A wonderful route in Eastern Canada and Northeastern USA. The first part of this route includes a visit to the Niagara Falls and then continues to the states New York, Vermont New Hampshire and Maine in the USA. From there the routes enters Canada and leads to the Saint John. From Saint John and the province of New Brunswick. The route continues to the Gaspe Peninsula, a beautiful, pristine region in Eastern Quebec. The last part of this route includes a ferry ride that crosses the delta of the Saint Lawrence River and and a drive to the cities of Quebec City, Montreal and Ottawa all the way to Toronto, where this trip ends.


Day 1  Land in Toronto and visit the city.

Day 2 – Visit Toronto

Day 3 – Spend the morning on Toronto and drive to the Niagara Falls through Niagara on the Lake, 2 hours drive
Lodging location: Niagara Falls (Canadian side)

Day 4 – Visit the Niagara Falls
Lodging location: Niagara Falls (Canadian side)

Day 5 – Cross the border to the USA and drive to the Adirondack Mountains in eastern New York, 6 hours drive
Lodging location: Lake Placid

Day 6 – Travel in the eastern Adirondack Mountains and take a short ferry ride that crosses Lake Champlain to the state of Vermont, 30 minutes ferry ride plus 2 hours drive
Lodging location: Stowe

Day 7 – Enjoy activities in the Green Mountains, around Stowe

Day 8 – Drive to New Hampshire and cross the White Mountains through route 112 (Kancamagus Highway), 3 hours drive
Lodging location: North Conway

Day 9 – Travel in the eastern part of the White Mountains
Lodging location: North Conway

Day 10 – Enjoy one more day in the White Mountains

Day 11 – Spend the morning in the in the area surrounding the town of North Conway and drive to Acadia National Park, in the state of Maine, 4 hours drive
Lodging location: Bar Harbor

Day 12 – Visit East Acadia National Park
Lodging location: Bar Harbor

Day 13 – Visit West Acadia National Park
Lodging location: Bar Harbor

Day 14 – Cross the border back to Canada and drive to Saint John, enjoy the afternoon in town, 3 hours drive
Lodging location: Saint John

Day 15 – Drive to New Brunswick and visit Hopewell Rocks (the place with the greatest tides in the world), 3 hours drive
Lodging location: Moncton

Day 16 – Drive to Miramichi and on the way visit Kouchibouguac National Park, 1.5 hours drive
Lodging location: Miramichi

Day 17 – Drive to the Gaspe peninsula, 5 hours drive
Lodging location: Perce

Day 18 – Visit the amazing Gannet colony in Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé National Park and drive north to Gaspe, 1 hour drive
Lodging location: Gaspe

Day 19 – Visit Forillon National Park
Lodging location: Gaspe

Day 20 – Drive south along to coast of the Gaspe peninsula, 4 hours drive
Lodging location: Matane

Day 21 –  Take the ferry to Baie-Comeau, and afterwards drive south and go whale watching in Tadoussac, 2.5 hours ferry ride plus 2.5 hours drive

Day 22 – Drive to Quebec City through Jacques Cartier National Park, 4 hours drive
Lodging location: Quebec City

Day 23 – Visit Quebec City
Lodging location: Quebec City

Day 24 – One more day in Quebec City

Day 25 – Drive to Montreal along the Saint Lawrence River, on the way stop for a visit at La Mauricie National Park, 5 hours drive

Day 26 – One more day in Montreal

Day 27 – Drive to Ottawa and tour the city, 2 hours drive
Lodging location: Ottawa

Day 28 – Visit Ottawa, the capital city of Canada

Day 29 – Drive to Toronto, on the way take a tour to the Thousand Islands, 5 hours drive
Lodging location: Toronto

Day 30 – Fly home
