St John to Toronto 2


St John to Toronto 2 – A very comprehensive route in Eastern Canada. The route starts in the city of Saint John and from there leads via ferry to the picturesque villages of Southern Nova Scotia. After touring this region the route leads to Cape Breton island. After touring the island’s beautiful National Park, the route continues to the province of New Brunswick and from there leads to the Gaspe Peninsula, a beautiful, pristine region in Eastern Quebec. The last part of this route includes a ferry ride that crosses the delta of the Saint Lawrence River and and a drive to the cities of Quebec City, Montreal and Ottawa all the way to Toronto, where this trip ends.


Day 1 – Land in Saint John and take the ferry to Digby, 2.5 hours ferry ride
Lodging location: Digby

Day 2 – Drive plus take the short ferry rides to the end of Digby Neck (to Brier Island) and go whale watching, 3.5 hours drive
Lodging location: Digby

Day 3 – Drive to the town of Lunenburg through Kejimkujik National Park, 2 hours drive
Lodging location: Lunenburg

Day 4 – Visit the village of Peggy’s Cove and the beautiful coastal areas around it and drive to Halifax, 2 hours drive
Lodging location: Halifax

Day 5 – Travel to East Cape Breton Highlands National Park, 5 hours drive
Lodging location: Ingonish

Day 6 – Visit West and North Cape Breton Highlands National Park, 2 hours drive
Lodging location: Cheticamp

Day 7 – Drive to New Brunswick and visit Hopewell Rocks (the place with the greatest tides in the world), 6 hours drive
Lodging location: Moncton

Day 8 – Drive to the Gaspe peninsula and on the way visit Kouchibouguac National Park, 6.5 hours drive
Lodging location: Perce

Day 9 – Visit the amazing Gannet colony in Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé National Park and drive north to Gaspe, 1 hour drive
Lodging location: Gaspe

Day 10 – Visit Forillon National Park and drive south along to coast of the Gaspe peninsula, 4 hours drive
Lodging location: Matane

Day 11 –  Take the ferry to Baie-Comeau, and afterwards drive south and go whale watching in Tadoussac, 2.5 hours ferry ride plus 2.5 hours drive
Lodging location: Tadoussac

Day 12 – Drive to Quebec City and visit the city, 3 hours drive
Lodging location: Quebec City

Day 13 – Drive to Montreal and visit the city, 3 hours drive
Lodging location: Montreal

Day 14 –  Drive to Ottawa and visit the city, 2 hours drive
Lodging location: Ottawa

Day 15 – Drive to Toronto, on the way take a tour to the Thousand Islands, 5 hours drive
Lodging location: Toronto

Day 16 – Visit Toronto
Lodging location: Toronto

Day 17 – Fly home
