Miami Circular 14 – A short route in Florida that includes a nature and amusement parks. This trip starts and ends in Miami and, in addition to visiting Orlando’s theme parks, includes a visit to the Keys, to Everglades National Park and a few more state parks along this route.
Please note – During summer months it is very hot and humid along this route. This route can be affected by summer hurricanes. The peak of the hurricane season is in September. It is possible to travel this route during summer months, but it is advised to be up to date regarding the forecast. The most recommended months for taking this trip are April to May, as well as October-November.
Day 1 – Land in Miami and enjoy half a day in the city
Lodging location: Miami Beach
Day 2 – Drive to Orlando and on the way – go shopping, 3.5 hours drive
Lodging location: Orlando
Day 3 – Visit one of Universal’s theme parks
Lodging location: Orlando
Day 4 – Visit one of Disneyworld’s theme parks
Lodging location: Orlando
Day 5 – Drive south to the 10,000 Islands region of Everglades National Park and take a boat tour (It is possible to add to the drive a visit to Myakka River State Park), 4 hours drive
Lodging location: Everglades City
Day 6 – Visit the northern part of Everglades National Park (including Shark Valley) and drive to the Keys Islands, 4.5 hours drive
Lodging location: Key West
Day 7 – Drive back to the mainland (on the way don’t miss the beaches of Bahia Honda State Park), 3 hours drive
Lodging location: Homestead or Flamingo
Day 8 – Visit the Flamingo region of Everglades National Park and then drive to Miami, 3 hours drive
Lodging location: Near Miami’s Airport
Day 9 – Fly Home
