Low price level (up to 200$ per night):
Cedar Lodge: Not a high standard hotel but in a very convenient location, in the community of El Portal, very close to Yosemite Valley.
Medium price level (200-300$ per night):
Yosemite Westgate Lodge: A basic level hotel, located a 50 minute drive from Yosemite Valley. Recommended only if you cant find a place closer to the valley.
Yosemite View Lodge: A decent hotel for its price in El Portal, very close to Yosemite Valley.
High price level (over 300$ per night):
Evergreen Lodge at Yosemite: A nice, high level hotel surrounded by nature. Not that close to Yosemite Valley but not that far either (a 45 minute drive).
Rush Creek Lodge: A new, excellent hotel on highway 120, about 30 minutes from Yosemite Valley.
It is recommended to stay near Yosemite Valley. Driving distances are long and the roads are windy. Sleeping in the towns of Mariposa, Groveland, and Oakhurst is less recommended (unless staying there the night before arriving at the park or the night after departing).
Another option for lodging is Yosemite West, a summer house complex not far from Glacier Point Road. Click here for lodging options in Yosemite West.
If arriving from Las Vegas you can sleep at Mammoth Lakes on the day you drive to the park (and the day you drive back to Vegas). Be aware that driving from Mammoth Lakes to Yosemite is possible only when Tioga Pass is open.
You can also stay at the hotels inside the park (near the valley) but reserving a place there is difficult (the second hotel on the list is very expensive):
*All prices listed are for a double room, midweek in august.
