Motel Marina – A boutique hotel in Marina District, just a short drive from the fishing piers.

Travelodge by Wyndham Presidio San Francisco –  A basic hotel hust a short drive from the fishing piers.

Samesun hostel San Francisco – A hostel in Marina District, just a short drive from the Fisherman’s Wharf. Has both private and shared rooms. Free parking.

HI San Francisco Downtown Hostel – A great hostel near Union Square. Offers both private and public rooms which are suitable for families.

Medium Price (200$-300$)

Coventry Inn – A simple yet recommended hotel. Not in the city center but only a short drive from it. Has rooms for large families and free parking.

Columbus Inn – Another recommended hotel. While not as good as Coventry Inn, Columbus Inn is at a central location just a short walk from the Fisherman’s Wharf. Free parking and large family rooms.

Cow Hollow Suites – A simple hotel which has large suites equipped with a kitchen. Not in the city center but only a short drive from it. Free parking.

Marriott Vacation Club Pulse, San Francisco – A recommended hotel right by the Fisherman’s Wharf.

Hotel Riu Plaza Fisherman’s Wharf –An excellent hotel right by the Fisherman’s Wharf.

The Cartwright Hotel – Union Square – A basic hotel with relatively small rooms but in a great location.

Marines’ Memorial Club & Hotel Union Square – A recommended hotel in a great location – right by Union Square.

Inn at Union Square, a Greystone Hotel -Another recommended hotel near Union Square.

Chancellor Hotel – Another recommended hotel near Union Square.

White Swan Inn – A very recommended boutique hotel a short walk from Union Square.

High price (300$-500$):

Hotel Nikko – An excellent hotel near Union Square.

Omni San Francisco – A recommended hotel (which is not that expensive compared to its high quality level) in the financial district not farfrom Union Square.

Argonaut Hotel, a Noble House Hotel – A very recommended luxury hotel in the Fisherman’s Wharf

Very High Price (over 500$):

The Fairmont Heritage Place Ghirardelli Square- A very recommended hotel of high quality in the Fisherman’s Wharf area (near Ghirardelli Square). Has apartments suitable for large families.

Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco – A recommended luxury hotel near Union Square.

In San Francisco, we recommend staying in the Fisherman’s Wharf area (the Italian Quarter) or in the Union Square area. There are also a several inexpensive and decent hotels in the Van Ness/Lombard area (not a central location, but only a few minutes’ drive from the Fisherman’s Wharf area). Nob Hill and Marina neighborhoods are also pleasant and have some nice hotels. We advise not to stay in the Tenderlion neighborhood or south of Market Street – due to the many homeless people in these areas.
